To promote reading for all and in anticipation of World Book Day on April 23, School of Marine Science and Technology, Tianjin University, is organizing a series of “Youth Reading” activities. These initiatives will be collaboratively carried out at both the college and departmental levels, featuring activities such as “Teacher and Student Reading Together” and “Recommended Good Books.”

On April 30, the Student Council of the School of Marine Science and Technology invited Professor Xu Jian to host a "Youth Reading" teacher and student book-sharing session. During the meeting, Professor Xu exchanged reading lists with the 2023 cohort of Marine Technology students, creating a platform for deep dialogue between teacher and students in a shared reading format. This initiative aims to enhance mutual learning and foster a campus culture that values "a love for reading, reading good books, and reading wisely."
At the sharing session, teachers and students exchanged their thoughts on outstanding book titles, expressing their insights and engaging in discussions about books related to the ocean and detectors. This dialogue aimed to broaden students' perspectives and enhance their intellectual horizons.

The "Youth Reading" teacher and student book-sharing session served as a medium for connection through the shared reading of classics, mutual book recommendations, and open discussions of insights. It not only established a platform for deep dialogue that supports mutual learning in teaching, but also vividly exemplified the educational philosophy of "cultivating individuals through culture and educating through literature."
