On the afternoon of July 2, 2025, the School of Marine Science and Technology held a meeting for all faculty and staff in Room 319 of the school. The meeting was attended by Prof. Zhai Jingsheng, the School Dean, Party Secretary Shan Xiaolin, and other members of the school leadership team, with all faculty and staff participating. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Dean Gong Le.

During the meeting, Mr. Shan Xiaolin introduced to all faculty and staff the progress made by the school's Party Committee since the implementation of the spirit of the Central Committee's Eight Regulations and the ongoing educational efforts. The Party Committee has worked diligently to ensure that party members and cadres fulfill the central requirements and the work directives set by the university’s Party Committee. They have promoted a comprehensive approach to learning, investigation, and rectification, thoroughly identifying issues and creating a checklist of problems and a rectification ledger for the school leadership team.
Secretary Shan also reported to the entire faculty on the rectification efforts undertaken by the leadership team, including the progress of relevant measures, interim results, and institutional achievements, allowing all faculty members to see clearly what changes have been made and how effectively they have been implemented. This was aimed at ensuring that the outcomes of the educational efforts are tangible and perceptible.
Next, Mr. Jin Nan, Prof. Su Rongxin, Prof. Wang Qing, and Mr. Gong Le, each according to their respective areas of responsibility, discussed the key work points of the university and the performance assessment indicators of the school. They provided updates on the progress of key tasks this semester, addressing aspects such as student affairs, alumni relations, confidentiality management, scientific research, international cooperation and exchange, talent cultivation, faculty development, and asset security management. Additionally, they outlined the requirements for the next steps, clarifying the direction needed to ensure the orderly advancement of all tasks.

Finally, Prof. Zhai Jingsheng concluded the meeting by emphasizing that as the faculty team of the school continues to grow, teachers should further refine, expand, or adjust their research directions. They can either strengthen theoretical research in line with international development frontiers or enhance practical applications based on the needs for the transformation of technological achievements.
He called for the need to build consensus and further foster teamwork in alignment with the discipline's direction, aiming to produce significant projects and outcomes. This collaborative effort is essential for effectively promoting the high-quality development of the school's undertakings.
